Dale Gruber: Fiddle
The fiddle was the only option.
Dale, 20, of Maplewood, Minn. had both the mandolin and fiddle before him when his older brother chose the mandolin. This left the youngest Gruber with a bow and a fiddle.
Dale, 20, began playing the fiddle when he was 7 years old. The fiddle was always Dale’s first choice because it gave him the opportunity grab the audience’s attention with its strong, resounding quality while also setting the tone of any song, whether slow and steady or fast and upbeat.
Dale spent more than 10 years honing his skills and learning from master fiddler Brian Wicklund. Dale has experimented merging several genres, including bluegrass, folk and blues. He may or may not have also dabbled in some classical tunes.
Dale is a co-founder of Blue Hazard and is happiest when he sees the smiles on the audience’s faces. Currently he is involved in full time undergraduate studies at Bethlehem College and Seminary in Minneapolis, MN. He is studying Biblical and Theological studies in hopes to eventually be a pastor. His interests include sports, music, reading, and cooking. He married his lovely wife, Hannah (Deiss) Gruber, on June 24th, 2011 at the age of 19. He loves playing in Blue Hazard and is so overwhelmed with gratefulness to Christ for all of the mercies and grace that He has poured out. For Dale, faith in the Lord is his life’s burning passion and Blue Hazard is a way to worship in a fun and powerful way.
